This dress was bought new and was worn once. It has been cleaned and is in great condition. It was originally ordered in a size 10, however it was professionally altered for a truer fit. I normally wear a size 6 or 8 in women's dresses. The alterations included having the waist taken in slightly, a shortened hem, and the addition of an over bustle. The waist measures 31" and the bust measures 38." The seamstress also added two small hooks on either side of the dress to hold the topmost layer of tulle when dancing, walking, etc. The bustle and hooks can be easily removed, however they were necessary to keep the dress from dragging the ground when in motion. I am 5'6" tall and wore shoes with a 2 1/2" heel so the dress would be a good length for someone up to 5'8-5'9" tall.
This dress is very dramatic on the wearer. It has a short, chapel length train. The fitted bodice has a beautiful beading detail with some light pink and soft yellow accents. It zips up the back to make getting ready easy, but it still has faux buttons for a beautiful finished look. The skirt is very full with multiple layers of tulle. The topmost layer is pleated which adds some nice texture to the dress.
